Azerbaijan by Shakeela
I had a short 4-5 days trip, but Azerbaijan is a beautiful and highly recommend country to visit. It’s has rich culture , beautiful architecture as well as natural beauty.

It’s architecture is a mixture of western and Islamic traditions
Azerbaijan is almost 5000 years old country and was part of Soviet Union. Has independence in 1991. Capital is Baku.
It’s situated on one side on Caspian Sea on one side and Armenian mountains in west. As you can hear wa of fight between Azerbaijan and Arminia for some areas now a days.

Sue to sea there is amazing refreshing breeze / wind all the time which is unique for Baku. Baku is Persian word meaning bad winds. The thing that I enjoy the most is this fresh air especially if you have early morning breakfast in balcony. You feel you are in some other world.

Breakfast is delicious and food is very cheap.
Azerbaijan is famous for fire and meaning of its name is protector of fire. As the country is rich in oil and gas, and there are many areas and mountains which are burning for many many years .
As you can see in this picture

Flame towers are popular buildings and at night they have beautiful lights which gives impression of flames

The old Baku city is well planned and it’s a mixture of soveiet, Christian and Islamic style. Shirvanshah forte is worth visiting. There is also a carvansera called Multani carvansera
Baku is quite moderen and an extremely clean city. Its Nizami street gives you a feeling of Some clean area of France.

Outside the Baku some areas like Gabala, Sheikhi and some other areas are ful of natural scenery.

Rest of Azerbaijan, I want you all to visit and enjoy. It’s a relatively cheap country to visit and just 3 -4 hrs from Pakistan, 2 -3 hrs from UAE.

A common view in Baku. You feel like they are celebrating Pakistan day all the year.
My trip advise is : Early in the morning – sit in the balcony of your hotel – close your eyes and just feel the wind.
This moment need to be experienced and can’t be described.
It’s amazing!
